Penguins

We are working on a penguin experiment.  This is Polly the Penguin being measured before we put her in water.  She is 2 inches long.

Here's Polly floating upside down in the water.  What will happen to Polly?  Some of the children predicted she will grow.  Someone thinks she might explode!  We'll check on her next week.

Here's some pictures of the fair shares penguin activity.  This is a very visual and fun way to understand dividing equally.  Of course it's always fun when you get to eat the manipulatives!

Look at our Penguin Parade!
The students followed directions to cut the pieces for the penguins.  Each one has its own personality.

Just had to share the Ice Fishing Game! The students took turns fishing and measuring their catch using a ruler.  It was a favorite!

Here's an inside look at someone's penguin book.  We found penguin facts from several books read during the week.
