Preparing For 100 Day
Zero the Hero visited the class on Monday and brought M&M minis. We will use the M&M's for math next week. Here is a student's book page for number 90. As you can see we turned the zero into a snowman and added snowflakes. Isn't he cute?
Each student is counting 10 fruit loops on a string each day until there are 10 groups of 10. The students will eat their 100 hundred pieces of cereal for breakfast on the 100th Day of School. Hooray!!!
This is the 100 Day Bottle Collection information each student will bring home. Each student needs to write threes clues to describe what is in the bottle. This is a fun activity and it is always surprising what some students collect in their bottles. After everyone has a turn to share their collection, the bottles are put in the Math Center for the students to check and count. Sometimes the students discover that some collections have a little more or less than 100 hundred items.

The original idea is from readwritethink.org. Search for 100 day activities on their site. You can download the labels, clues, and parent letter.
