Wintery fun for everyone!
The students are practicing fair shares with marshmallows!
Subtraction is fun with this game!
The students created symmetrical snowflakes!
We learned about MLK and did this directed drawing.  Too cute!
We celebrated Donuts with Dad on Friday.  It was great fun to spend the morning with the dads.
Look at our dads!
The students will practice telling time using these apps.

We ended the week of wintery fun ice skating and having a snowball fight.

THE LAST OF WINTER'S WONDERS

We are just about finished learning about winter's wonders.  I apologize for the pictures.  I've been taking pictures with my iphone and sometimes they just won't rotate no matter what I do.  It's exasperating!  Does anyone else have this problem?!
We read and compared two versions of, The Mitten.
Look at our matching mittens!  We used these for retelling The Mitten.

The students wrote about what's in their mitten.

We played Marshmallow Fair Shares.

We learned about polar animals.  Here are the penguin pals we made.

Here are our cool polar bears.

We did a blubber experiment!  The students took turns placing their hand in ice water.

Now the students put their hand in the ice water wearing a blubber mitt.

Here is the recording sheet for our experiment.

The students enjoyed playing with penguins and icebergs.

We made snow!

ICICLES, SNOWFLAKES, AND SNOWMEN! OH MY!

The students made icicle patterns by spinning the pattern spinner and choosing beads to create the pattern.  I don't why the picture is upside-down.  I tried and tried to fix this :(

Look at our cut away snowflakes made from coffee filters!

These are our snowmen made from the Snowman Glyph posted last week.
Look at the wonderful snowmen made from SNOW DOUGH!

We ended our week cooking a Snazzy Snowman!  YUMMY!!!
